Signature proven counterfeit
Ojlemålning on canvas, winter landscape with cottage, approx. 70x90 cm, signed "C. Brandt", apparently depicting a genuine oil painting by the Swedish artist Carl Brandt (1852-1930). This painting was submitted for sale at an auction house in Stockholm for sale. It was discovered that the painting was a forgery and the painting was confiscated by police.
Signature proven counterfeit
Oil on canvas, 63x98 cm, signed C. Brandt. In the lower left corner is a new batch of paint and new signature in the right corner has been painted there with the same color. This color is not in the painting! One can easily believe that the painting is carried out by Brandt. The painting is a skillful painting probably done by a serious artist who has been in Brandt school. It is not done by Carl Brandt. District court's assessment: The painting is a forgery by a new overcoat and then falsely signed.

The painting's lower right corner is a party that has been painted over with gray color, letter by letter and in the painting's lower left corner has a new forged signature has been painted in the same color.
