Stellan Mörner's son, Hans Mörner, discovered this painting for sale at a major art dealer in Stockholm who said they bought it a few years earlier by an art dealer in Jönköping, Sweden. The painting must be seized and the investigation reveals that it is a forgery. After an expert investigation and judgment declared that the painting is not genuine. It is a forgery
Oil on canvas, sure legalistic motives with houses, signed "Mörner", 40x32 cm. Mr. H. H. was approached by a, for him unknown woman, who offered him to buy two pieces. paintings by Stellan Mörner at a great price! When they met the woman had brought two more paintings. The four paintings were sold for 12,000 Swedish crowns, of which 10,000 Swedish crowns related to the two-Morner paintings. The woman stated that she would be admitted to a nursing home and was therefore in need of money. After expert investigation and they explained that this painting is not genuine. It is a forgery.
