Franz Fedier biography
The German-Swiss artist Franz Fedier began to train as a painter at the age of 17 in Brugg. From 1941 on, he studied at the arts college Lucerne. He gained first experiences as wall image painter when he worked for Heinrich Danioth. From 1956 to 1963, he was working alternating between Bern and Paris. In Paris he attended the Académie Fernand Léger and got to know amongst others Alberto Giacometti. In 1959, he took part at the documenta 2 in Kassel. Many national and international single and group exhibitions honoured his work.
