Ann-Gerd LINANDER

Most of all Ann-Gerd is famous for her portraits of people and animals, but she also specializes in mythology and symbolism. She has done several portraits of judges, professors, chairmen, ambassadors
and princesses.
From the beginning I admired the old italian renaissance-painters and after my teens , I did some grope trying for my self That meens that I am autodidact (self-taught), but I lived in Italy for six years and was absorbed in their art. There l had a pleasant contact with a member of the Parliament, and he became a big client to me, and it was thanks to him that l became a portraitpainter. l continued on that path when I returned to Sweden, and to mention some, I have made four portraits of Presidents and six others to Svea Hovrâtt (main court) and one of the others was ''Stenbocks Kurir''. Among other portraits I have made is Princess Marianne Bernadotte, Jussi Björling, the Minister of Industry N.G. Asling, the Chairman of Communal and so on. l have also made some paintings for Churches and Castles, familyportraits, children and animals. Some of my commissions was to copy old paintings. In between I gladely paint my own motives with mythology underneath and symbols and mystic.

the old masters, she has the greatest admiration for Leonardo da Vinci.

Jag är i Sverige mest känd för mina porträtt.
Efter nästan sex år i Italien, började jag min karriär här. Jag har målat porträtt av Presidenter i Svea Hovrätt i Stockholm. Totalt har jag målat tio tavlor åt dem. Bland andra porträtt, har jag också målat kommunens ordförande, familjeporträtt, slottsmålningar samt många barn och djur.
Från början beundrade jag de gamla Italienska renässans-målarna och gjorde själv några trevande försök efter tonåren. Jag är alltså autodidakt (självlärd), men bodde i Italien i sex år för att fördjupa mej i konsten. Där fick jag kontakt med en Riksdagsman som blev en stor kund till mej, och det var tack vare honom som jag blev porträttmålare. Jag fortsatte på den vägen när jag återvänt till Sverige, och för att nämna några, har jag målat fyra porträtt av Presidenter till Svea Hovrätt och sex andra tavlor till dom bl.a. "Stenbocks Kurir". Andra porträtt som jag målat är på Prinsessan Marianne Bernadotte, Jussi Björling, Industriminister N.G. Åsling, Fullmäktige ordförande m.fl. Det har även blivit en del kyrko- och slottsmålningar, familjeporträtt, barn och djur. Jag har också haft i uppdrag att kopiera gamla tavlor. Däremellan målar jag gärna mina egna motiv med mytologin i botten och gärna med inslag av symboler och mystik.

"Det är idag en stor sällsynthet att få se en konstnär som målar på det sätt som gjordes under Renässansen. Varje målning tar flera månader att färdigställa och färgerna sammanställs under största noggrannhet. Det är på detta sätt som konstnären Ann-Gerd Linander lärde sig måla under sina år i Italien då hon studerade de gamla mästarna och framförallt Leonardo da Vinci som hon beundrar mest.
En skicklig konstnär kan kopiera av de gamla mästarna men det saknas i regel ett djup och känsla i måleriet. Att kunna måla motivet så att det i alla delar får en själ och ett djup i personlig stil är något Ann-Gerd Linander behärskar och vilket gör henne tämligen unik i dagens konstvärld."
