Arthur Claude Strachan was born in 1865, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is now best known for his paintings of flower clad cottages and rural village scenes. The painter studied art in Liverpool and later traveled throughout Great Britain. Between 1885-1929 he exhibited in London and in the and also exhibited four works at the Royal Academy.
