Avinash Chandra biography:

Avinash Chandra was born 1931 in Shimla, India. He studied art at the Delhi Polytechnic Art School and graduated in 1951, shortly thereafter receiving a teaching position. In addition, he was part of the artistic movement ‘Delhi Silpi Chakra’. In 1956 he received a scholarship and moved to London, where he attended the Central School of Art and Design, followed by several solo exhibitions. In 1964 he participated in the documenta III in Kassel. His works are to be found in many public and private collections, including the Tate Gallery, London.
