Carlos Sobrino was born in Havana, Cuba in 1909. He was one of the most important artists of his time. He was well known for his artwork in all of Latin America, in Europe, and in the United States. He obtained the First Prize in painting and the First Prize in sculpture at the Hispano-American Biennial of Madrid, Spain in the year 1950. Died in Spain in 1981.
