D. A. FISHER

D. A. Fisher was from Portland, Maine but often painted in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. He was a landscape and marine painter who lived most of his adult life in Portland, Maine. D. A. Fisher was an employee of the Cumberland County Power and Light company. He was a member of the "Brushians", the renowned art group from the Portland and Cape Elizabeth area.
Research indicates he was actively involved in exhibitions of his work. He was known to have exhibited at the Boston Art Club, Exhibition of Small Paintings, on December 7, 1887. It appears that Fisher did travel to San Francisco, California, perhaps several times, and was know to have painted in the Bay area in 1891, and Mount Shasta in 1919.
D. A. Fisher died in 1940.
