Spanish painter and illustrator. He studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, as a disciple of Francisco Domingo Marqués. After obtaining an award in 1876 from the Spanish and American Illustration, he began publishing cartoons in Comic World and the Military Enlightenment. From 1882 he lived in Rome, gaining prestige and international clientele. In 1901 he participated in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, winning second prize. He spent his last years hosted the Casa de Cervantes, a charitable establishment for poor artists who depended on the Society of Writers and Artists.
