Oil on canvas, motif with House at the waterfall, signed "Fritz Thaulow", size 65x80 cm. The painting was sold in May 1999 of a major auction house in Stockholm, Sweden for a price of 150.000 SEK. The buyer returned the painting when it had been assessed as a counterfeit expertise in Norway. The painting has been on the Auction House's stock since 1999. On September 30, 2014 the auction house contacted the police who took the painting seized. Court decision: Examination and expert judgment showed that the painting was a forgery. The painting is forfeited.

During a search of the forger "EI" in Denmark found a painting studio with a great number of counterfeit works of art by famous artists such as William Paerels, Alixis Kreyder, Edward Cucuel, Ilya Repin, Magnus von Wright, Ragnar Ekelund, Fritz Thaulow ... Police also found a large archive that suggested that many forgeries have already been sold in foreign auction houses across Europe. "EI" is of Russian origin and lived for a short period in Denmark. She managed to escape the police and it is believed that she is now based in Holland. After an expert assessment and judgment declared that this painting is not genuine. It is a forgery.
