Charcoal drawing, motif with female portrait, signed "HS" in pencil, size 18x14 cm. The painting was seized by police in a small auction house in Stockholm March 11, 2013 after it had been noticed by a private person who said that it probably was not a genuine work of Helen Schjerfbeck. The painting attracted interest from the Finnish police who were investigating a major fraud case, including Helen Schjerfbeck. The painting has undergone careful studies and issues of several experts. It turned out that the painting was not genuine, hence the court decided that the painting should be forfeited. The owner told the police that he bought the painting in December 2012 in England, he showed the purchase receipt and thought he made a bargain when he bought the painting.
