Was born 1972 to Spanish-Cuban-Jewish parents.
In Jose Luis Fariñas’s career as painter, draftsman and illustrator, he has already brought award (UNESCO, UNEAC), publications (Cuba, USA, Panama, Puerto Rico) and requests that he act as a judge in national contests of plastic arts. He graduated from San Alejandro Academy with Gold Title and receive high studies of painting up to fourth year at the Superior Institute of Arts in La Habana. Farinas has created 24 personal exhibits and participated in 74 important collective exhibits, both in and out of Cuba. His paintings have important inclusions in museums of New York, Denver, Delray and Pittsburgh, and in many private collections (John Le Carrée, Carlos Weil, J. D. Hyman, A. A. Mc Donald…). He was offer conferences in Cornell University and in The City University of New York. Textes about his works have appeared in Pittsburgh Post, OPUS HABANA, Denver Post, Art Nexus, UNION and many others. Consulting Editor of The Contemporary Who’s Who 2004. His illustrations appear in the best books of the most relevant Cuban Editorial Houses. He is represented in the United States of America by the Society of Advancement of Latinamerican Art (SALA), Delray, and by M. Y. Art Prospects Gallery, Chelsea, New York City.
