Oil on canvas, scene with birds (Waxwings), signed in pencil on the reverse, 31x22, 5 cm. Ostensibly representing an authentic painting by the Finnish artist Matti Karppanen. Fraud Cases of 2004 in Finland. A man tried to sell the painting to an elderly demented woman. At the police investigation was consulted several experts. The painting is simple and clumsily executed. The signature on the reverse is not performed by Karppanen - if Karppanen been the originator of this painting, he would probably have signed the painting on the front. After an expert assessment and judgment declared that the painting is not genuine. It is a forgery.
