Paul Ahyi, der 1930 in Togo geboren wurde, schloss 1959 sein Studium an der \'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts’ in Paris ab. Im selben Jahr kehrte er nach Togo zurück und arbeitete als Lehrer für Plastik und Zeichnen am Lyceum in Sokodé und Lomé. Seit 1976 ist er als Professor an der internationalen Hochschule \'Ecole Africaine et Mauriciennes d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme\' tätig.
