Richard Artschwager

Artschwager was born to European parents in the United States. He attended Cornell University and was then sent to fight in World War II. After his return, Artschwager began his career in art, dabbling with painting. Artschwager subsequently worked in multiple areas, such as painting, sculpture, photography and illustration. He was primarily interested in the comprehension of space and structures of perception. His work has been called Pop Art, Conceptual Art, and Minimal Art.
